Summer 2019 HS Swim Maintenance and Training Practices

We are so excited that we have this opportunity for some summer swimming training for the boys and girls! We have been officially ok'ed for the summer. Here are some of the details for the swimming maintenance program we are offering this summer for current members of the team, graduating seniors who want to keep in shape for college programs and those who are interested in joining the program.

Description: Summer 2019 HS Swim Maintenance and Training Practices

Location: VandenBerge Pool

Coaches: Denise Green, Doug Bloom

Dates:  Meets Monday through Thursday from June 17 through July 31, 2019.

*No workouts June 30-July 6 (MSHSL blackout week)

Time:  6:00AM - 8:00AM

Sessions: 27

On Monday and Wednesday we have the pool to ourselves, and on Tuesday and Thursday we share the program with Lap Swim.  This program is designed to help swimmers train throughout the summer and build endurance going into the swim season.  There are no "meets"; this is training only. Each week will focus in on a specific skill that will be stressed throughout the sets in practice that week. In practice, coaches may incorporate dryland work too. Please bring $150 donation and athlete emergency information sheet (attached) for the summer program to the first day of practice.  You can make checks out to the Elk River Boys Swim Boosters (ERBST Boosters).

Swimmers should be able to legally do a 25 fly, and 50 of every other stroke without stopping to be ready for the training program

We realize that families take vacations, so please know that while attendance is always encouraged for the best training, it is by NO means required. Enjoy family and the warm summer break!

If you plan to attend this program, please email me at denise.green@isd728.org or Doug Bloom douglas.bloom@isd728.org so we can plan attendance numbers. Feel free to contact us with any additional questions. If you know of others that would like to be a part of the program, please feel free to forward this information.

Thanks so much, looking forward to a great summer!
